Learn my secrets on how to identify your target market 👇🏾
Now I’m REALLY done with excuses. - This man is 102 years old and still going. It doesn’t matter to him how slow he moved, all that mattered is that he put his mind to something and made it happen, which is more than a lot of people can say, even if they’re 80 years younger. If he can do it, what’s your excuse?
Who gets text messages from their boss at odd hours and it makes them crazy? Who is a boss that communicates with their staff and it drives them crazy to hear crickets? Since I run my own companies and work with so many other companies as an investor, consultant, etc, the topic of proper ways to communicate with your team is something that has been on my mind lately, and I want to know what you think. I’ve seen companies and people all handle this differently, but my theory is: - Texting is for immediate time-sensitive items - Email is for something I don’t need an answer to right this second Now don’t even get me started with platforms like Slack, Gchat, and others because - for me - that’s just way too many lines of communication for me to keep up with. What are your thoughts on the best way to talk within your team given the message, the urgency, etc? Sound off in the comments and hopefully we all learn from each other!
Don’t waste your time on negative energy. If you have big goals, do whatever you can to reach them. Don’t let anyone deter you from succeeding. Adjust your goals as you see fit, but never give up or think something you want is unachievable. People will try to bring you down all the time. Tune them out and be determined to prove them wrong #MondayMotivation
This is an awful excuse. - Just because you don’t have something you THINK you need, doesn’t mean you can’t achieve the same outcome. It comes down to the drive you have for your business to succeed, and the company you keep who want to take this journey with you and your ability to tap into your own #PowerofBroke. - Don’t give up when the going seems tough because if you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way to make it happen. - Let me hear your thoughts on this.
How on point is this statement!! If you feel it as much as I do. Give me 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thanks @alison for the post
I felt this one 😂 - Tag an entrepreneur who can definitely relate.
Don’t you want to see what potential you can reach? - You can’t settle if you want success. Every step of your journey is a new test of yourself. - Think about it: If I didn’t challenge myself to start selling those hats, FUBU would have never started. - If I didn’t challenge myself to network and master the power of negotiation, I wouldn’t have become #ThePeoplesShark - You’ve got to push your boundaries if you want to see what’re capable of and make waves in this world. - If you’re not settling let me hear you in the comments. #Powershift
When Obama’s people call you, you answer 😂 - Being a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life - thanks to @revolttv @drinkchamps for letting me get into that again and revisit some of it. - Who’s seen the whole interview?
Don’t make your next big business move before you’ve done this one key thing. To know how to attract your customers, you have to understand who they are, how to serve them, and what gets them to buy. Before you do anything else with your business, you need to establish your target market. This is something that has taken me years to perfect and even to this day, I am still learning more about my target market and what they are trying to communicate to me. This is important. - Making a connection with someone is just as important as eating right or getting enough sleep at night. I try my best to connect with those around me on a regular basis, whether it’s via text message, email, social media, or in-person. There’s no wrong way to connect with someone. - When you increase your network, you increase your power. Always be making a point to meet someone new and build your inner circle. - Tag a friend or someone you haven’t connected with in a long time. Send this to them, Get the conversation going again. Make a new connection in the comments. Start bridging the gap between yourself and the world. #DJReminders #WellnessWednesday

My forgotten Hallway Shot: For my road warriors that have been following me from day one. Sorry that I haven’t been posting as many hallway pics as I did in the past. However, that doesn’t mean that I have forgotten about you. My grind has never stopped. Here is to you🥂 We do today what others won’t, to achieve tomorrow what others can’t. Wishing you all the best, DJ #columbusohio
When all is said and done, it all comes down to you. - Let me hear if you have what it takes in the comments below. Tell me about your business, skills, talents, or whatever you have to offer. Even if it can’t be to help me, it could be to help others. Get it going 👇🏾
You can’t stay a master if you don’t keep learning. - This is all about the #powershift mindset. If I just stopped when I thought I reached the top at FUBU, I wouldn’t be half the entrepreneur I am and continue to want to be. There’s no one area where you get to go “I’m done” - that’s just a guarantee to get lost in the crowd. Always be climbing, entrepreneurs. - Leave a 🙌🏾 if you agree. #MotivationMonday
I see so many amazing people with massive potential let emotions and others get the best of them. However, we live and we learn. It’s never too late to make small adjustments that will pay big dividends. As you mentally get ready for the work week ahead. Think about this powerful statement from #warrenbuffet and don’t let anybody control you! Feel free to tag anybody you know that needs to hear this. Thanks @donlondean For this amazing post. You know had to repost it! DJ #DoYou #Control

What do you need to do to find success? - Creating and growing a business is all about trial and error. With anything in life, you have to learn from your past and use that to make a plan for the future.
Stop thinking that having “nothing” means you’re stuck. - Too many people think that you have to have money to make money, but what they don’t know is that fact can hurt you in the long run. - Having a financial “cushion” can actually give a false sense of security. If you have nothing, you have nothing to lose and nothing to be afraid of.

😂 - If you missed my announcement yesterday, I’ve been working on my new book, #Powershift, for over a year now. As I’ve been writing it, I’ve been keeping in mind everything you all have ever asked me for help on. From mentorship, to goal setting, to changing the script of your own life, it’s going to change the way you see your future… I can’t wait to share it with you all 🙏🏾 - Have a question about the book? Comment it below 👇🏾 - #Powershift #March2020
Do you agree or not? 👇🏾
A lot of you may disagree with me on this. - I didn’t quit my job as a waiter at Red Lobster until I was 4 or 5 years deep into FUBU. Sure, I gradually put less time into Red Lobster and more time into FUBU, but I stayed with it until I was sure I wanted to go all in and that it was going to be worth it. If something were to happen to FUBU, I would always have my other job to fall back on just in case. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end, but I’m glad I did it the way I did because it allowed me to ease into it and harness the #PowerOfBroke. - Let me hear your thoughts on this.
POWERSHIFT: COMING MARCH 2020. Excited to finally announce the news to you all 🙌🏾 Now that it’s out there, let me tell you about #Powershift and how I've come to embrace the concept behind my new book. I've already written about the keys to making things happen without any money. That’s the #PowerOfBroke —a power I tapped at an early age, and I still reach for it today. I've written about what it takes to work hard and stick to a game plan. How early do you get at it each day, and how late do you keep at it... and, even more important, how do you fill the time in-between? That's the power of #RiseAndGrind and the take-charge mindset that drives our days. It's how we do. But none of the blessings or successes that have come my way would have happened without the ability to shift power—from other people to me, from me to other people, from one area of strength to a whole new area of strength. Those #powershifts have been at the heart of my life and career. This capacity to turn every situation to some kind of advantage is hard-wired. It's in my bones. And, I'm betting, it's in yours too. It’s about the power of negotiation, shifting power from your mind to your actions. It’s about negotiating with yourself first. But until and unless we learn how to tap that power, until and unless we learn to even recognize it, it's not going to do us any good. And that is why I'm writing this book - to help you rewrite your own story. I can’t wait to release this all for you to have in your hands March 2020. Comment if YOU'RE ready to change your life and perform the ultimate #Powershift. If you want to stay tuned into everything coming up about my new book, head to the link in my bio. Stay tuned because I’ll be shifting the power back to you and looking for your advice on what I should do for the cover 🙏🏾
I decided to throw my 50th Birthday party on an island earlier this year. Many of my friends that I grew up with took the trip to come celebrate the life that we are all grateful for being able to enjoy. My good buddy and fellow shark @kevinolearytv went out of his way to take the trip down to hang for a couple of days. All of my crew from the hood where so amazed about how cool, down to earth and funny Kevin was. He fit right in as you can see. Kevin is one of the few men that can move in any circle, tell you the cold hard truth with a twinkle in his eye and still be respected and loved. I guess that’s why we call him MR. WONDERFUL. Happy Birthday to my dear friend and fellow shark Kevin O’Leary!! PS: In this 1 picture there is a total of 17 misdemeanors, 6 felonies and 3 acquittals.... And that’s just Kevin😂
The countdown begins now… - Any more guesses as to what I’ll be announcing?
Don’t underestimate the power of your inner circle. - I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for the people that have been with me since the beginning. It can be easy to focus on the money when trying to be successful, but much of the opportunity can be found in the people you surround yourself with everyday. - Tag your inner circle. #Powershift
“Selfish” isn’t a dirty word. - You can never be successful if you aren’t happy and healthy first. If you have an amazing idea and try to go straight for the money out of the gate, the creative part of you that came up with that idea will start to slip away. You have to remember who you are and why you started doing what you’re doing, if you want to stay on the right track.
Been working on something big over the past year for you all. - If you’ve ever wanted to make that monumental change in your life, but have felt unclear of how to go about accomplishing it, this is going to change all of that for you. I’m going to help you rewrite your own story. - What do you think it is? 👇🏾
The best thing about being 50yrs old with a toddler is that we both need our nap time in the middle of the day. #IGetCranky #LifeIsGood #happyfourthofjuly @minkajaggerjohn
You think you need a million dollars to get started? You’re wrong. - The earlier you get people to invest in your business, the more power you give up and the more likely you are to lose it all. Make your mistakes, small ones, with your own money, learn from those mistakes, and then try to get funding when you’re wiser and know what you’re doing. - Who’s with me?
I’m tired of the excuses, aren’t you? - As long as you are happy, healthy, and passionate about your idea, you can do anything you set your mind to. Don’t let people tell you that you can’t do this or you can’t do that because of where you are from, what language you speak, or how much money you have. You are only limited by your own mind. I didn’t let my own hold me back and neither should you.
Never, ever doubt yourself. - Your mind is the only thing limiting you. As soon as you start internalizing that, anything is possible. - Type YES if you’re with me.
